Thursday 28th February, 18:00
Residence of the British Ambassador to Estonia, Kose tee 57, Tallinn
Format: Informal speech + questionsResidence of the British Ambassador to Estonia
Have you ever wondered why there are so many political parties in Estonia, what they really stand for and how similar / different they are for one another?
How about the trials and tribulations of starting a new political party? Is an age of personality politics in Estonia coming to an end? Come along for the answers to these and many more questions.
Our speaker, Jaan Uustalu, was born in Sweden to Estonian parents in 1954, he settled back in Estonia 1993. He is chemical engineer by training a manufacturing industry CEO and a senior researcher at TalTech. Jaan has also found time to join various political parties both in Sweden and in Estonia and was also one of the initiators of the Estonian Free Party (Vabaerakond) - a party he later left. With his perspectives from inside, outside, and presently free from political association, he is extremely well suited to introduce the Estonian political landscape to an international audience.
